Having driven the AAR (back in '71) I was just as amazed at how well it stopped also.
Smooth, confident braking from 70 mph, straight with no plunging or fading. Just as important as 0 to 60! I could have ordered the pistol gripper but accepted the automatic. A lot of functional engineering went into those babies. All that for $4,700 smackers. Also a TRUE chick-magnet, esp. back then! My friends hated my guts.

@DylanJohnson21 .....very nice. sheeesh...I remember when you could buy these for under $5 grand all day long. had one in '72 and man did I beat that thing! whats nice now is you can pretty much build one from scratch these days. but, i'd rather have my burnt orange one back.
