Well done, I have the honour of being the son of the guy who wrote the original, Peter Mcgovern. He left us in April 06.
He would be made up that you are singing new words, he wrote over 120 verses, mostly about special events, like capital of culture. Great to hear new words. Scouse rule ok!

i did try to find out how to get in touch with the family and get permission, we mentioned Peter M cgovern on the night and how he had written loads of verses. we raised over £1,100 on the night for livepool unites. if you would like a copy of the lyrics I will gladly send them to you.
