@AT5W it helps with their digestion, helps them get rid of furballs. I think they get vitamins from it also. In winter time he can't eat fresh grass outside, so I always have some growing for him, he munches on it every day!

This is great..it grows so quickly! The last time I tried I didn't put plastic over the container and the seeds didn't sprout...so I'll try that..

OMG, your cat is so sophisticated ! My cat can not bite off the grass, she will tug and pull and eventually uproot the grass.
I like the idea of breaking it off and giving it to her myself... I shall try that this time. Thanks for the video =]

@Sarosh00 Yes,he tries to find longest pieces of grass, sometimes he can't get the ones in the middle. Then he gives me the look like" well, help me", and I start breaking them off and feeding them to him until he has eaten enough.

will they continue growing after the top was eaten or trimmed??

@kohjack06 No, they don't to continue growing. Once grass is full size, it seems to last just 2 weeks. Then I just start another batch in different container.
But I think you can buy seed mix that has many different types of seeds and they all germinate different time? And lasts for a month or so.

@leMeow1 I guess if you let it grow long enough for it go to seed. Good idea if you use organic seeds? It's best to use mixture of barley, oats, wheat etc. You can buy cat grass seeds from ebay.
