I currently reside in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Id like to inform that homophobia is rampant, women are utilized as sex objects in about half of the commercials aired and the government is about to pass a controversial media law which gives them certain powers over the press. Sorry to spoil this, but Argentina is like the US without Panda Express or Dodge Vipers.

The U.S. has been off the gold standard for almost 40 years, so give it a rest. All countries use fiat currency now. It hardly matters anyway. If the U.S. economy collapses, we're taking the world down with us. In a depression, gold is useless because you can't eat it. The nation that prospers is the one that can feed its people & power its industry. The U.S. can feed itself ten times over & we have 300 years worth of coal reserves. This is why we're the most powerful nation on earth, period.

We were in the worst depression ever, 30% unemployment, & in 4 years we outproduced the entire Axis, liberated Europe, developed atomic weapons & then rebuilt Europe. You have NO CLUE what the U.S. is capable of. We can CHOOSE to be self-sufficient, or not. If the world prospers in the next century, it's because WE allow it. We are the (only) SUPERPOWER. Our freaking entertainment industry is bigger than your countries GDP!

If that's your idea of history "U.S. SAVED THE WORLD" you really are in a brainwashed-short term-fish bowl thinking head space, so sad. You say 30% unemployment and the ongoing decline of the US dollars purchasing power. All empires fall. All empires fall.

That's my idea of RELEVANT history - at least recent. Before the U.S., capitalism was never attempted before so you can't compare us to other empires. So far, NOTHING has overcome us. How did we defeat the U.S.S.R. in the cold war? They amassed far more weaponry than us. We OUTSPENT them and STILL our economy didn't fail. America was founded by free-thinkers. Our spirit is to create the lives we want. I don't expect you to understand this, since you come from a land founded by criminals - LOL!

Aww... the proles are upset again. Do you honestly think our prosperity is based on our economy? We have the largest, most advanced MILITARY in the world. We can always TAKE what we want.
