@alfredoball20 thanks so much! for me it was a combination of theory, listening to recordings, and a lot of experimenting at the keyboard alone and in jamming with others to discover sounds and notes that I like. a good book I recommend is The Jazz Piano Book by Mark Levine. Also it's a great idea to pick up ideas from recordings that you enjoy :) also check your local colleges, maybe there are some faculty that know jazz that you could study with? I'd love to do a workshop someday!! cheers -G

no way.. was that part of the melodic line from autumn leaves at 2:57 if so, incredible to put it in there. i play random notes over the scale and am wondering if you could give any tips? maybe how you learned? a good book? thank you :) im looking for a teacher in the south florida (miami) but they are all classical pianist and id like to learn jazz.. any chance you do a workshop down here lol? :) keep it up you're great!
