    Sometimes this is good advice. If something is done and nothing can be done about it, dwelling on the past will not make it better. Everyone makes mistakes and sometimes they can't be undone. You can only learn from them and make sure you never repeat them.

    I'm not sure it is terrible advice. I agree, his life is fu**ed up but I don't think it's because of the "it never happened" attitude. I think forgetting some of the horrible things that we see in our life is one of the greatest gifts nature gave us. If I would constantly remember everything bad I've ever seen, either for real in my life or on TV or newspaper, I would be a depressed man. Constantly thinking about my broken heart, war, terror, accidents, I'd crumble.
