We are members of an independent student-led political group based in Northeastern Ohio's West Geauga High School.. This is my paycheck, this is the amount that's been taken out for Social Security this year. I've been working since I was 14 and I've been paying towards this dying fund that my generation will never see. What do you plan to do to solve this problem?

  • This is no longer "Your Money". It became the government's money when they took it from you. SS is just one of many "entitlements" or money hand outs used to buy votes. SS needs to be phased out but no one has the guts to do it. YOU NEED TO DO IT!

You need to find money from whatever the government decideS to leave you after taxes to fund your own retirement or you will starve. Sorry, but these are the facts.

  • We realize that SS is a problem, which is why we asked the question. There are various routes that Social Security can take from this point. Perhaps the next administration will phase it out. Perhaps they will raise taxes exorbitantly or cut other programs. Or maybe social security will just die when the funds are consumed. This is what we ask of our potential future leaders, both republican and democrat, so we have an idea of what is in store if we should elect them.

  • Do you REALLY want the answer to where your money goes???

First, google "Money Masters" and watch the documentary. Then watch America: Freedom to Fascism. freedomtofascism(dot)com

BE PREPARED TO GET STEAMING MAD!

Once you've decided you're not going to take it anymore, go to teaparty07(dot)com

  • Unless you are talking about Ron Paul. The others ALL say that "We the people" get a huge tax increase to cover the debts. We will actually just pay more and in turn they will spend more OR same old same old.

  • The REAL problem with the SS system especially here in Oregon is SS fraud. I know many people from an unemployment support group that already in their late 40s and 50s have taken their SS and get around better than I do and have fun and do all these PHYSICAL things yet they have nothing physially wrong with them and I cannot get SS disability and have severe arthritis. I was in two car wrecks that were not my falt and have been fighting this matter ever since. The entire SS is messed up bad.

  • I think you need a new Job... you're only getting $6.85 an hour and looks like you only worked 3-1/2 hours or so. Keep this up and you'll be getting Social Security like all the other Leeches out there. If people worked hard to make an honest living, there wouldn't be Social Security problems. But like everything else, there's abuse, it never ends!!!!

  • GUESS WHAT YOU TUBERS,itt on you,the choice is yours ,whats your answer, what are u going to do? if i where u i would stop paying for nothing!that means changing your employment stategie you know.good luck THE SWIVELER

  • the social security "crisis" is theoretical. the solution is simple and will be implemented when required, i.e. when the gov't can no longer add sufficient debt to cover its outlays. SS payment rates will be means tested and cut for most people. If you are younger than 55 you can expect to receive anywhere from 50%-70% of the promised benefit. Your ROI on your social security "contributions" will be negative.

  • Yes. The New Deal was an FDR reform, apart of that was Social Security.

  • SS was part of the New Deal under FDR. It was expanded from that point to the biggest hand out in US history.

  • I felt you needed to hear some facts before you decided what was the best course with SS. No candidate will ever have the guts to tell the truth or end SS. Your generation really needs to phase it out or it will bankrupt our country. By the way, ask your teachers if they depend on SS for their retirement. I bet they have their own fund and do not pay into it.

  • Check your history. SS funds were first added to the general fund under Johnson not Bush. Every administration including Clinton did the same thing since. Get your facts right or do not post.

  • What are they worried about? That's just one paycheck, of one of the jobs that person has held. And it was $229.67 taken out.. look closer. $1.50 adds up, especially when you're being paid minimum wage.

  • Pretty sure it was a Democrat who created Social Security in the first place. This is not about Democratic propaganda.
