  • Hi ranjit,

    Thnks for your video.

I am not able to map network drive new iomega 2TB Home Media Network Drive. I can see and all folders using the Iomega storage manger however when I try to map clicking on folder I could not process further even I type correct path.

    Please advice.

    Rohit.

  • @Rohity123: I am not using a windows machine so cannot help you....... but when I tried with windows long time ago it worked without issues, just google how to map a network drive..... I am using it with a Mac and no problems it shows in the network area..... best to use email iOmega or use their forums for support.

  • Hi Ranjit, Thanks for your video! It's very helpful and i received my iX2 Cloud Edition today!

But how come your GUI is all fancy and mine is hideous, black and very very cluttered? :s

  • @TzumB: Must be new version of s/w they must have launched.

  • Hi Ranjit, thanks for the video.

    1. I am currently using Fast Ethernet Wifi and I should be changing to Gigabit Ethernet in 6 months. Can this drive work for both? (I think you mentioned that it could, but I just want to confirm.)

    2. I want to share files with PC and Apple devices. I should select both the iTunes and DLNA servers. Am I right?

    3. My ISP assigns me with a shared dynamic IP address. How can I use DNS for the HDD?

  • @StupidSundae: Yes you can use a 100Mbps port no issues....... second point Yes...... you just connect this NAS to your router it should assign the IP to it, if budget is not a constraint also check Synology DS212J that I reviewed youtube.com/watch?v=cuTf-l2Cy-s one of the best NAS I have experienced.

  • Hi Ranjit, I want to buy a NAS with Bittorrent client support to download my movies without turn on my PC. Also as a backup server. I am a bit confused on which one to buy based on performance. Iomega Home Network-Cloud Edition Buffalo Linkstation Pro Dlink dns-323 Which one to buy based on below factors - Performance (speed) - most effective GUI - most powerful bittorrent client - good customer support Kindly advice.
  • @equal2k4: Just use a free Free Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service no-ip comes to my mind, even dyndns.org is good but paid.

  • @geekyranjit thank you very much. 1 more question: where can i figure out the ip to connect to the NAS from another location ? i want it to stay in the town i study, but i'd like to access some files from my hometown -> as far as i saw it's only supported for 12 months via built in WAN bla

  • @equal2k4: Nope you have to connect it to your router via the ethernet cable.
