I took all the pictures in this montage from my own yard and from the pond out back. When I finally took time off from years of study, working, and taking care of my family, and after I found and rehabilitated abandoned baby wrens from my yard, a whole new world opened up to me. From the smallest fledgling to the largest water bird, from the magnificent sunflower to a tiny flower growing in the grass, everywhere I looked I saw new life, a whole new world I'd never seen before.

I hope when you see this, you will take your camera and look for the new world that's hiding, that's just waiting to be found, that can be more beautiful than any exotic place you might go.

And thanks for the visit. xxoo

Music is from The New World soundtrack, composed by James Horner.

Some notes on the video: pictures from the pond are from both the rainy season and times of drought (where we are as of June 08). The two smallest flowers in the pictures span no more than a few millimeters and were growing in the grass. The raccoon in the picture began visiting my backyard in '02. She came two seasons, and appeared to have nested in the wooded area between our backyard and the pond. I called her Rocky. For a while, I made her pancakes on some mornings, and she loved cat kibble. I never saw her again after Hurricane Charley came through in August '04, but one of her young visited the following year. The wrens survived and eventually were released in my own back yard. I believe two are still living, because when they come to call, they cling to the screen next to the porch door like all five used to when they wanted to come in for the night.

The different bird species featured here: Great Egret, Florida Sandhill Cranes, Great Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, Cattle Egret, Red Cardinal (male and fledgeling), and a mourning dove

  • @MissLanaDawson that is because jaes horner used this music as an inspiration for that specific scene....it is alot alike....but not identical....

  • brought tears to my eyes in parts, (inc. reading "When I finally took time off from years of study, working, and taking care of my family"), and made me smile in other parts [esp. the 2nd shot of the frog[?], and the depth of colour in that deep pink blossom[?]/flower literally took my breath away.

    Your photography skill is amazing

  • @hotaru327 they must have been looking at the video upside down :)

  • apparation stalks the night

  • I had a monologue with this song as a background. it was about an old woman sitting on a graveyard talking to her dead husband as if he was there. it was so sad and I cried many times, and so did the audience (as I heard). the most perfect song.

  • WHO THE HELL HAD THE AUDACITY TO GIVE THIS VID A THUMBS DOWN? >.> This music is so...breathtakingly beautiful...and the pictures along with it are fantastic. Excellent job!!!

  • Beautiful.

  • The beginning reminds me of Titanic where Jack and Rose when they first see eachother
