@nirmans This is Smart Object that you talking about. Just search it as "Smart Object" here on YouTube and you can find alot explaining about it :)
And yeah, it helps in situation when you need do resize layer without shit.

if i may ask, what exactly you do when you open some elements of the drawing in another file and do some adjustment?
for example, you opened the "nails' shadow" in another document and did something to it, similarly you open other stuff in a new document, why you do so?
