@hanikonquar May was a mess. I remember SOD named her most annoying character of 2000. I didn't exactly have high hopes for the Labines but I wasn't expecting THAT. It's a shame some of their better ideas did not get more development.

I do wish they could have brought Nola and Quint back, but perhaps it was for the best. Knowing the GL of that time we probably would have just heard about Nola being a terrible mother.

@CarlD2 Claire Labine spent alot of time on that character - shoving May down our throats almost everyday. Fans did not respond to her as well as Labine hoped. I'm sure Lisa Brown turning down GL's offer didn't help Elizabeth Hobsgood's furture with the show since there was no way to justify May.

Goutman is a hack, and Jean Passante is a horrible HW. They were in the same positions in AW's final days, and ATWT's finale is turning into as much of a disaapontment as the AW finale.

Well...you shocked me there. I wonder if they fired her because Nola didn't return or if she was always going to be short term. They bungled that character. She was so annoying, by the time she suddenly became smart, people did not care.

ATWT has used its vets better than GL in this last year but the lack of returns is a big disappointment. As much as I hated what GL became I was still so happy to get to say goodbye to many of my old favorites.

@CarlD2 From what I understand ... the character of cigarette girl May 'Merisi aka Mary Murto the FBI agent who had an affair with Danny Santos was originally supposed to turn out to be Stacey Chamberlain, daughter of Nola and Floyd Parker. If you remember, May was full of movie trivia, a trait she was supposed to share with her mother.

ATWT is failing miserably in delivering what it should to long-time fans for its last chapter.

@hanikonquar I know she went back to ATWT a few times (although not when the show is ending, which makes me sad -- either she refused or they just didn't bother to ask). I wonder what they had in mind for her at GL in 2001. I can't think of what it would be. Maybe pairing her with Buzz? I'm glad she came back for GL's last week, and even better, had some choice comments about what the show had become. I think she also ad-libbed some great moments.

@CarlD2 After being written out of GL in 1998, Brown became active behind the scenes. She has worked as an acting coach for P&G at GL and ATWT, and has directed for ATWT as well as ABC's OLTL. Incidentally, she was asked to return to GL in 2001, but declined because she was very unhappy with her experience the last time she returned. She didn't like GL under Rauch.

Lisa Brown is such a great actress, I don't know why she didn't get more work after GL wrote her out for good.
