Just a short video of a Bee-Utiful honey bee nest that we call "external". Most honey bee colonies seek protected voids with a small opening that they can easily defend against predators and other marauding bees. Think the 'bee tree' from Winnie the pooh!

We performed a live removal of this nest from a 40 foot high perch in an oak tree and will be relocating it to one of our hive boxes at a quarantine apiary. African Honey Bees ( Killer Bees ) often build external nests, and It's possible or even probable that this colony is Africanized. So, we are 'requeening' the colony with a known European queen from a bee breeder.
