some taxi drivers in malaysia are not only rip off the tourists also rip off the local aswell ! I hate our KL public transport so much ,buses are too slow ,,LRT don't travel to all places and taxi are too scary...I think the only way to solve this issue is to change our government ,,,the taxi drivers behave like is becoz they pay under table to some of the local officer and that's the reason why when u try to report them to the local officer noone will care ...

Its hard not to get down after being taken time and time again. Best rule is to ask for the meter, if they say no - don't bargain, just close the door. The bad ones make you appreciate the good and all make me appreciate Singapore.
Taxi drivers in Malaysia are fucking scum of the earth and rip off tourists like crazy! My advice to anyone visiting this beautiful country Malaysia, STAY AWAY FROM TAXI'S THAT DO NOT USE THE METER!

@perrypang : I know what you mean, I've seen them flick some dodgy switch before but It's OK, I've not taken a teksi in years and have a car now, so they can go screw themselves! :) I still cringe however when I see them pick up tourists from places like Times Sq. I also noticed a lot of teksis have a sticker on the side saying 'No Haggling", I wonder how many of them really don't?
