Top 100 video game music: Air Base from Perfect Dark #77

Perfect Dark, you will hear many musics from this game my friends. It's one of my favorite and it's a shame there's never been a good follow-up to it.

Perfect Dark is, in my opinion, a revolutionnary FPS. Only Half-Life could stand against it when they were released and if Perfect Dark had online play, it would be the definite FPS experience.

It was the first game with complete stats and you could level up your profile in multiplaer with medals and various stats. The bots were customisable and overall it was a great multiplayer experience with the challenges. The missions were fun but what was revolutionnare was that ALL weapons had a second function and it has some of the most original weapons in gaming history like the Laptop Gun and the Phoenix for exemple.

Perfect Dark was built from the legacy of Goldeneye 007 and perfected it in every way. Too bad Rareware was sold tho.

God damn this brings back memories. I'd spend more time in the combat simulator menus listening to all the awesome music than actually playing the game.

The Enemies in Perfect Dark had like 20 Points were you could hit them and that in the year 2000 ?

I wonder what the Developers do know i heard they made Timesplitters 2 + 3

@Zappafan1980 Hitboxes is something games today still don't get right and PD nailed it, it just goes to shows that it was in some aspects ahead of its time. Great game.

@FinesseF3 imho it is THE greatest. IDC flame me if you want but PD will always be the #1 FPS to me with some of the greatest sound tracks for a FPS. You could really feel the excitement playing through a level with the PD sound track. Actually I turn off the bgm when I play The Conduit and play some PD tracks instead.
