What i dislike about the oscars is that the critics dont go for the big commercialized movies. In my opinion, DHp2 should have a chance, and it shouldnt be punished for being commercialized.

@TheWhiteKnight89 What a joke. The Potter was just as enthusiastic and passionate of their work. They gave up 10 fucking years working on it and created 8 constantly good films. So, just stop.

Also, you cannot compare the LOTR production to Potter's as they are completely different.

@vaporage The Potter team didn't give up 10 years of their lives-it was their job and i'm sure they all earned a lot of money from it. It's the same with Lotr but i know which group of filmmakers i would have wanted to work with(lotr). I don't know if you've watched the making of the lord of the rings-but throughout it everyone is just so passionate and thrilled to be making it-Harry Potter not quite the same. I'm not a hater i love the books i was reading them before the hype in the 90's.

Just hearing Gary Oldman saying "Until the End" while showing Harry, Ron, and Hermione holding hands gets to me everytime. Daniel Radcliffe was right. The Oscars are snobs when it comes to movies. Would "Hugo" have gotten a Best Picture nomination if Martin Scorsese hadn't directed it? Probably not. But since it was made by an Oscar darling and favorite it got a nomination.

Unfortunately the Academy is prejudiced against genre movies and comedies. They tend to award only the serious dramas and artistic movies. LotR was a real exception. It's snobbery really. It's like a lot of literary critics are prejudiced against the same types of books. Instead of judging a book within its own genre, they judge all books together and believe that some types are inherently superior to others. Further they believe that only superior minds can recognise and judge superior art.

They did it again! The Academy members are jackasses!! All of the Best Picture nominees are far from being as good as Harry Potter! Deathly Hallows part 2 is without doubt the best movie of the year! The Oscars have officially lost all of their ( little) credibility!!
