  • Hmmm, we live in the same city but we speak very differently O.o you say Aunt as ant and I say Aunt as aunt I guess?

  • @AyanaLinval lol would that be a St. Boniface accent vs. a River Heights one? JK but I think the way we say some words depends on how our parents say them. I do have friends who say aunt like "ont," same as you.

  • if only life was that easy that everyday we could get the blog recorded in one take and then straight to upload...

  • @nothingfunnyleft some people do that on here every day!

  • haha, good video! I keep meaning to do this one too. Will try to do it tomorrow.

Yeah, the whole "eh" thing. Funny thing is, I told ya I have friends from Canada and we joke about it a lot.... and I think I have actually picked it up some and say "eh" in my everyday speech :) Funny how you can pick up stuff like that when your friends are saying it around you a lot :)

But yeah, thanks for doing this! Loving this tag!

  • @bradasstv can't wait to see it, you definitely have a bit of an accent, Brad!

  • Anyone ever tell you that you sound EXACTLY like Randy Bachman, another native Winnipeger? Weird...

  • Also we tend to talk like we are asking a question. Or also we will say "anyways" or "anywheres" instead of anyway and anywhere.

  • Also East coasters say "some" a lot. So instead of saying "That's REALLY good" we would say "That's SOME good." or "boy if you don't hurry up you're going to be SOME late". (also we would say "boys" not "boy". Also "right or rite" is used. ei instead of "he was REALLY mad" it would be "He was RIGHT mad". So all together now. "Yer SOME late, boys the boss is gonna be RIGHT madatchoo"

  • I'm grew up on the east coast in NB and now live in Sask. on the east coast we call it silverware and whole wheat. Also we say "awnt" instead of "Ant". Also some words that have an H in them such as "right" or "fight" or "night" we actually pronounce the H a little so the words sound more "breathy" for lack of a better word. Funny the differences.

  • no doot aboot it.

  • Canadian natives say "eh'"most of times

  • @dapperdan29

"Ont" is a good way to put it, I was sitting there thinking how I would write it to sound like that lol. But that could be true for the parents. Canada is very diverse and has a lot of recent immigrants. I'm 3rd gen from Iceland, so I can bet there is still an influence there, my friend is 2nd gen from Poland and she has the HEAVIEST accent even though she was born and raised here lol.

  • @TalkMontessori you ain't seen nothing yet! We've get reached the tip of the iceberg of cuteness!
