Wow! over 30 thousand views!

THIS TRICK IS FOR PLAYSTATION ONE GAMES

Do at your own discretion.

This trick is similar to the old PS2 bulky slide card trick, but without the slide card, and using a PS2 slim model.

:D

to find a more in depth guide to covering the sensors, you can watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjiZPML-FHU

now onto my guide.

after you have the sensors blocked, go into your browser and have a psx disk inserted, and the ps2 will recognize it as such. Swap that disk with a backup and the disk image will remain. after the swap press X to go into the game, and it will boot.

note that I chose not to place the lid back on for this demonstration, you can do this with the lid put back on.

not you hear the backup disk hit the spinning device, thats because I dropped it on accident, I have shaky hands =/

edit:

I used alcohol 120% to burn the backups of my games.

the free trial version can be found here:
http://www.download.com/Alcohol-120-/3000-2646_4-10158124.html

the free trial is all you need to do any of this.

also you might want to do some reading on how to burn your back up files or even how to make an ISO with your original disks here:
http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=320
edit 2:

people have informed me that this trick doesn't work with backuped ps2 games, I wasn't aware of it until recently. I didn't check myself because I don't have any PS2 ISO's to test for myself. There are other non modchip alternatives for playing ps2 backups.

the memento firmware and memory32. Give those a google search.

Edit 3: please people, Ive provided you with links to everything you need to do this, it isnt hard to go into the link I gave you and then click "how to burn an image" which is basically how to create a game disk. tutorial for that specifically is located here: http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=444
