YES, I do. I am really a Gene Simmons (Music Fan), but I am a little put off by his schtick these days. I also admire his ethnic/religious pride. If everyone could have that modest level of pride (risking an oxymoron) in their cultures, without feeling that they have to belittle others to make themselves feel superior, this world would be so much better off.
That negativity is what troubled me with Totie.

Mike wuz cool---he had the most interesting combinations of guests, conducted good interviews, and always remained himself. For the most part, talk shows have gone way downhill since then.
-
I love this interaction with Gene and Totie, I bet he has fond memories of this today.
-
@haitipi Jeez, call yourself a Kiss fan? Totie was from a Jewish family herself, and Gene had a lot of respect for her - which is more than I can say for you.
-
@haitipi The "hating bitch" is also Jewish, genius.

YOU NUTT
-
KISS was the first of the no-talent groups and/or individuals that rely on outrageous costumes to cover their lack of real musical talent.

To all of those calling Simmons a jerk and praising this horrible woman:
First of all, at the risk of sounding like I approve of Gene Simmons (he can be an egotistical jerk, but a lot of that is his schitck), he was just a young "kid" here & not well seasoned.
This woman is a hating bitch. That "nice Jewish boy" comment was funny cuz Simmons is a Jew. If he were not, that would have been quite insulting.Good Manners means not making another person fell uncomfortable. How is this moron nice?
-
@haitipi ...and a HUGE douchebag, Gene Simmons is one of the biggest assholes in *rock n' roll* history...I hope this dumbfuck rots in hell
-
Odd comment since Gene is not only a Jew, but was born in Israel.
Funny how Gene couldn't match wits with the old jew bag.
Did anyone notice that?
His attempt at shock didn't faze her one bit. She made him look like a fool.

In retrospect, Mike Douglas was a trailblazer. He had the most interesting guests and he treated everyone, from politicians to heavy metal demons with the same kindness and real interest in what they had to say. Mike, you are missed.
