CORRECTION: I included 8 points of reasoning used by Heraclius, but I said that there were 7.

Is Heraclius' attestation to the prophethood of Muhammed a good reason to accept Islam? You be the judge...

I used the following link as a source, feel free to visit it for more information and detail:

http://www.answering-islam.org/Muhammad/heraclius.html

To date, there has been no Muslim response to this refutation...

This link is to a passage in Tafsir Ibn Kathir as requested by a questioner:

  • I like this video better than the original, you use legitimate history. The original one uses the koran and quotes arab scholars (well duhhh of course muslims would agree with the supposed story and the legitimacy of the letter and the story behind it) And i doubt the supposed quotes of heraclius addressing towards muhammad, reality is, why would a victorious christian emperor (persian war) obey a foreign diplomat of some puny little kingdom of arabs under a foreign religion. Good video mate!

  • @Justinian43, thanks for the compliment! The lengths to which Muslims will go to provide some non-Muslim historical evidence for the claims of their faith never ceases to amaze me.

Is the original link from the Converted2Islam video still live? Every time I link a response to one of his videos he breaks the link and deletes the response...this one would be the first.

  • @stronzo5785 no there are no video responses, that means this man tries to erase any opposing views. It is sad because many people believe these youtube charlatans. I have read so much byzantine history and the story about the letter is dubious since the muslims take it a step further by adding that heraclius was supposedly waiting for a prophet. I take it muhammad did send the letters, he knew the emperors wouldn't convert and thus give his fanatic jihadists a cause to invade their lands.

  • David, Solomon, Abraham and Isaak were not prophets just believers that did sin unfortunately David did a couple really bad ones. Unfortunately Muhammad proved that a false prophet can be a number 2 hit just behind Jesus.Jesus did miracles, teaching and ultimate sacrafice for mankind.

  • @stronzo5785: Thanks. In one reply, I asked him how if allah was the one true God, how come he didn't let the angel Gabriel know that Mohammad couldn't read. He e-mailed back saying that all Gabriel said was for him to recite. Yet, as Mohammad explains, the angel Gabriel beat him when he told him that he couldn't read. Angels don't beat people up. Then he begins quoting the Apocalypse of Peter to prove his points. This was on a Christian site and he proceeded to accuse me of being a troll.

  • @pmoyer50, that, and they get information about the world via a single source...YouTube. If Allah were indeed the power that created the universe, he would encourage his servants to learn about that which he created, and the comments and arguments I hear over and over again indicate that the average Muslim polemicist hasn't cracked a book in a long time.

I'd be interested in seeing his e-mails...send him my way if he becomes too annoying, and I'll work with him.

  • @stronzo5785: OMG! Many satanists worship under oak trees. They believe that the oak tree has special powers. I've read a number of your comments and some strong points were made. A muslim keeps e-mailing me quoting Bible verses to prove that islam is the truth. Some of his opinions are so far fetched it transcends the trite phrase of grasping at straws. At least Christianity has evolved. The cult of islam keeps their followers stuck in the stone age or middle ages. "Machmad"?! ROFLMAO.

  • Jesus said On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?” Then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.” [Matthew 7:22]

He aslo said "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
