I played very difficult music, very fast, and with little to no error as a young violinist. I now worry much less about all that. Paid performances must of course be close to perfect, but otherwise I have found new persepctives as I've grown old.
I've been asked why I interweave religion and music, because of course music is merely a system of sounds and lengths of time played on an instrument that has acoustical properties.
I simply will note the words of Bach handwritten on his manuscripts "Soli Deo Gloria (To God alone be glory).
I still love the showpieces, for instance the Paganini concertos and caprices, but I find great peace in simple music played well, yet with human mistakes, sour notes, all the things that happen when one is not concentrating so much on "perfection"
I find inspiration in two powerful yet completely humble women of recent time.
St Therese of Lisieux died at age 24 and left us with writings so deeply spiritual that she was declared a doctor of the Catholic church. Her underlying message for us is that perfection is in the simple things, in what we take for granted, done out of love of God
Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta is of course known for her work with the poor and dying. She brough us deep insight and has shown the world that greatness can be achieved through humility rather than pride. She cared for people regardless of their particular religious beliefs. Hers was Catholic. She saw Jesus in the faces of all she met, and taught us to love until it hurts. She clothed herself with a sari and wore no shoes. She is recognized more than presidents, kings, and those with great power and wealth.

For the beauty of the earth
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise

For the beauty of each hour,
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale, and tree and flower,
Sun and moon, and stars of light
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise
