  • @stephenromansd The song you're looking for is called "Roll 'Em on the Ground" by Fate Norris' Playboys.

  • Awesome!! what is the name of that last song with the fast talkin role em boys role em? I gotta have that song!!

  • I own at least half of the Skillet Lickers 78's. Learned to play guitar listening to Riley Puckett!

  • great vid thx OldTimer

  • May 28 2010 Hoyt "Slim" Bryant ended his earthly race.

At milepost 101.5 a long journey is now complete.

I used to call him up and ask him questions and Mr Slim was always very imformative. His Wisdom, Cantor and humor will be greatly missed.

We were very blessed to have him for over a century.

I wish I could have actually seen him in person.

but I used to bend his ear over the phone for 11 years.

  • OTM - you have excelled here, my friend, like nothing before !! A marvellous summary-intro for both newcomers to this legendary band + long-time fans like me. And your period photo-stills + captions !! Spectacular. One wonders what intense investigative time & effort you went to, in order to come up with such an unsurpassed montage. Magnificent posting !! One of your best yet .. honest to god, no suck-up !!

  • Wow! This is the Best! Never can get enuff of this crazy ol' timey stuff, Thanks!

  • I thought Gid fell dead of a heart attack on the Chattooga Co. courthouse steps in Summerville, Ga?
