Orthochirus sp. scorpion mating video 02.wmv

My very 2nd attempt on Orthochirus sp. scorpion mating.
This time round Male Orthochirus sp. scorpion was introduce to a female Orthochirus scorpion.

The female was much bigger in size as compared to the male . therfore due to sheer size . the male will have a harder time to lead the female . The whole process is very tiring for the male scorpion.

They started the rutail dance after a few min.
Navi. of the surrounding , sensing of each other. were observed before the male managed to clip on to the female claw.

Finding of suitable spot by the male is also observed.

Awesome video! That species has one thick tale, huge. Love the tail flinging of the male. If he was a human he would be thinking "come on woman, hurry up, I'm exhausted dragging you around". Hope they were successful for you..

yes indeed i do ...

so far i monitor every mating session as i kept them on it own. only aloowing them to mix when in mating. and once after mating i seperate them ..

so far i have zero case of the female eating the male..

i tried about 5 time mating this sp with different male and female..

so far two of the females are reali "fat" hope i am luchy and have a good brood this yr :)

great video! I wish more people in the USA were breeding these, as they are amazing specimens. If others dont know, they use their tails as antenna to scope prey and surroundings, besides looking totally bad ass.
