  • too much posing, not enough execution of the skills. What's with the guy in white holding his sword so far back? He cant effectively parry or thrust from that position...and what's with him holding his back leg out so far!? He'd have absolutely no power if he suddenly needed to lunge! Gah! Embarrassing! Someone put decent fencing vids up!

  • His name's Christian de Launey. I'll tell you what - come to Pennsic next year and look him up. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to have you show him how it's really done. :-)

  • holy shit this is from two years ago, blast from the past aye.

  • Exactly; they're both pretty slack. A real sword fight takes 30-40 seconds max to determine a point, these guys were just wanking time away. And what was with the sitting down act at the end? A real fencer would have ended it quicker than you can remember your favourite Zorro sequel. I wouldn't usually mind ,and I'm sure you're all lovely people, but it wasn't the most exciting thing to watch, and wasn't very intimidating for a 'championship'. That's all.

  • If you haven't noticed:

    1. The guy you are criticizing won.

    2. His opponent also has his back leg extended pretty far behind him.

  • Actually that technique is very effective if done right because your opponent has a hard time gauging your next move. I've been in matches against that technique and it drives me crazy.

  • Is that Perrion fighiting Don Christian in the championship?

  • Christian, you do get around. It is good to see you even thus remotely. Guillaume, Artemisia

  • Vivat for Don Christian! He is a dear friend of mine, and a master of the blade.
