Using the new Quicksilver renderer inside 3D Studio max 2011 I managed to render this fantastic looking render in under 1 minute. To produce something similar to this using Mental ray it would have taken atleast 3 hours.

Let me know what you think, and please Subscribe and Thumbs up :). Thanks for watching.

  • Quicksilver's fast but it wouldn't take Mental Ray + CPU three hours to produce similar; I did a test and it less than three minutes to render.

  • @oo00SAMB00oo Depends on what your computer is capable of. Something like this in mental ray would take my computer about 3 hours. with Final gather on reasonable high settings to get a crisp result.

  • @uploader101 Just out of interest, what system are you running?

  • @oo00SAMB00oo I'm running a 32-bit system. with Quadcore intel Processor. nVidia 8800 GTX 768Mb 4gb RAM :)

  • Hey, maybe this is a dumb question, but I'm playing with Rayfire 1.55 and my simulations work but the impact objects replicate as well as fragment - is there any way to hide these replications?

  • @uploader101 anytime man check my videos out if you ever get a chance
