Can I host a server that I've created using Microsoft Visual C# (Windows) on this OS?
-
Which image did you use? My version didn't had the option menu to select "desktop" or "minimal"

Just a tip my friend, according to Linus Torvalds it is pronounced "lih-nucks" and not "lie-nucks" ;) Good video though, I came to see a very brief overview of CentOS at the installation stage, and that's exactly what I got.

@gumiho315 CentOS is very popular when it comes to Linux web servers, though of course you can use it as a desktop OS. It doesn't surprise me that the university uses CentOS, since it is the closest free alternative to Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I am not saying that people shouldn't use it as a desktop OS, there are simply more user friendly Linux distributions out there, with bigger support communities. If you are happy using CentOS as your primary operating system, then good on you.

Thanks for the vid, really helpful. can I ask what is the difference if I choose minimal instead of the desktop mode in the installation? Thanks again.

@kittcuenco The main difference is that you will have no graphical user interface, just the command line.
