For our documentary class, we had to produce a documentary. At first we had to write down what type of documentary we would like to do then the teacher (sensei) will split us into groups with similar topics. I was put into the last group, the one where there were no connections... not a good start!
It took us a while to get a topic worked out and start filming. I guess we chose etiquette because it was simple.
Luckily me and Enid had some bad-ass equipment to help make it look more professional. Other team members were amazing when coming up with ideas, etc etc. Thanks to you guys!
The biggest challenge was making it professional. Something not boring. Yes we could of shown just 20 minutes of interviews but that would have been super boring. I started to research some documentaries and used what I liked about them. Simple things such as keeping the tempo fast enough so that nothing gets too boring. Using stills as well as video footage, etc etc. Overall, I think I spent over 48 hours editing... I think it took this long due to my lack of experience with film editing.
Overall I am super happy with the results. Gained some super valuable knowledge and had fun making it. Thanks to my team members and for those who participated! :D
