C'est Toi Mon Grand Amour~
aka "You Make Me Feel Brand New"~
Performed by: Johnny Farago~
Original music & English lyrics by: Thom Bell & Linda Creed~

The classic love song "You Make Me Feel Brand New," a smash hit in 1974 by the Stylistics, peaked on the following charts and positions:
U.S. Billboard Hot 100 @ # 2
Billboard R&B Chart @ # 5
U.K. Singles Chart @ # 2

In 2003, almost 30 years later, the song was covered by Simply Red, a huge hit for this British soul band. However, I'm featuring the French version by one of my favorite Canadian artists, Johnny Farago (06/15/1944-07/29/1997). The French version is not the translation of the original English lyrics. Nevertheless, the French lyrics are equally beautiful and romantic.

Johnny Farago, a Québec native who was taken from us too soon due to heart failure, had recorded numerous American love songs in French lyrics. My all-time favorites from him include "Si Tu Pars Ce Soir ('If You Leave Me Now' of Chicago)," "Hello ('Hello' of Lionel Richie) ," "Oublions Le Temps Passé ('I'd Really Love to See You Tonight' of England Dan & John Ford Coley)," and "Parce Qu'elle Est Là ('She Believes in Me' of Kenny Rogers)."

I love classic love songs and many of my favorites were written before I was even born. I particularly enjoy listening to the music of the 60's, 70's and 80's, the "oldies but goodies." The 70's and 80's, two decades of many historical changes, but the music lives on and even some new waves in music were born.

I had written a refrain poem in French for this very sweet and romantic love song (at the end of clip). It really is a timeless love song and has been a very popular song for Valentine's and weddings for decades.

Special thanks to my French music friend, purplelunancy, for helping me out. It was a one-month project for me; however, without your help, I wouldn't be able to complete this clip the way that I wanted. Merci beaucoup, mon amie! :0)
