A Call for Discernment: Exposing the Word-Faith Movement

Host:Ingrid Schlueter
Guest:Justin Peters

Justin Peters is a staff evangelist at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Justin reminds listeners that there will be those who will do signs and wonders in Jesus' name, but that doesn't mean the miracles are of God. Nonetheless, the Word-Faith movement, which Justin believes has its origins in the metaphysical cults, continues to place a heavy emphasis on the miraculous and supernatural, while twisting Scripture to buttress its case.

For example, the Word-Faith movement teaches that when Adam was created he was another Yahweh. When Adam fell and lost his deity, it was transferred to Satan. Then the real Yahweh was kicked out of planet earth and now has no access unless we give it to him. So when a person gets saved in Word-Faith theology, he regains the godhood or deity that Adam lost. This is why they hold tightly to health and wealth, because they believe we are "gods" and a "god" cannot be poor, nor can he be sick.

This heretical exegesis of Scripture by Word-Faith leaders becomes clear as Ingrid and Justin dissect various audio segments from a few of the movers and shakers of the movement. Cuts are played featuring Creflo Dollar, who believes that Christians are little "gods"; Gloria Copeland, who claims that Christians can control the weather; and Benny Hinn, who believes that it is as easy to receive healing as it is to receive forgiveness for sin.

  • This can be summed up in one word: Satanic.

Jesus Christ said in Matthew 12:39 that 'an evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas':

Anyone who is looking for supernatural signs is not looking just at the Bible.

  • I've seen Justin Peter's video and heard him on other programs, he is very good! The Word of Faith movement is dangerous not only because it teaches a false doctrine, but also because it can make a person either doubt their faith or lose it altogether. Thanks for your program, I listen to it often. God bless!

  • Every time I want to hear the 2nd part of a crosstalk, I am directed to a page that does not exist

  • I think I'm going to be sick...did Todd Bently really kick that dear man who has polio? Someone, please arrest him. Where is the pity? Where is the mercy? This man is demonic. Sorry to go off like this, but it really makes me wonder where peop;e's heads are at. And exeryone just stands there, watching.

  • I love Justin Peters. My attitude toward faith healings is this: When Christ healed people, they didn't fall down - they got up. Subtle but important difference.

  • @1aliveinchrist But I am always surprised at these cultists whose light is darkness, how great is that darkness.

All around us in all realms we have people acting. From advertising to films , so many are caught up in the sensual, the flesh with no discerment what so ever.

    the 'Comforter" was sent to:

1 Lead men into ALL Truth (Jesus)

    2. Convict men of sin.

    That's it.

  • Glad to know that people are stil showing how vile these word of faith movement people are. Heretical and dangerous.

  • @terminat1 you misused that verse you should stop that. It is past tense because he said as jonas was in the belly of the beast 3 days so shall the son of man be and yeshua was in the ground past tense that scripture was for the generation that saw yeshua die and resurrect because yeshua said with all these things come to past like the abomination and false prophets then you no the time is near so that is sign for the time is near so Christians are supposed to be looking for things

  • Funny, when Jesus and the Apostles healed someone it was immediate, not "did you feel that??". I believe it was more like, "Stand up and WALK!!!"

  • can you put these in order...starting wiht Dolar, which one is next??

  • "Can you feel that ?" ...... you bet !! He felt the kick on his leg for shure !!!

Now i beleive in divine healing, glory to God ! But never have i seen men of God to that in the times of the Apostles !

  • "I just FEEL like the lord told me to kick him in his leg"

"God I "COMMAND" r these people for real, I know without any shadow of a doubt that this is NOT from God.. I cannot believe tht these people can be so seduced by this SATANIC rubbish. I totally agree with KarensFaith above, this is dangerous and can destroy a persons faith not to mention Salvation. We need to pray for this rubbish to stop. Amen.
