Adam Twell continues the long climb above tree line, still far below the Lactanectar Spring site which the Hiber Beast inhabits. Without the protection of the forests, the wind chills him and without the Guide he feels completely isolated on the rocky landscape. Thinking back to his conversation with the Leaders of Pastueris, he feels the rising resentment towards their arrogance, a resentment joined by all the resentments of his life. The grudges towards all those who placed small expectations upon him, never the confidence that he would succeed but the confidence he would fail. Never tall enough, never strong enough, never smart enough...
And even though stubbornly committed to proving them all wrong, the Leaders of Pastueris most importantly, Adam can't help but be aware of another feeling inside. Collections of self-doubt which mirror the voices saying "you can't, you won't, you are not"...even after all that has been accomplished, an awareness of self-frailty, vulnerable in the presence of the vastness earths and stars, a speck caught up and at the mercy of what Adam only knows as the impersonal and unfeeling cosmic forces...
Each step higher, one step closer...to meeting expectations or to exceed them?
{sorry for the low quality of audio....again, first session at capturing these pieces..}
