Re: Mania 27 "Main Event": Remember WCW's "reboot" in 2000/Wrestlemania IV?

Bryan Alvarez said this company can be rehabbed. What better way to do it than a good ol' fashioned tournament for an undisputed WWE World Champion(even if I do sound like a hypocrite in this video)? Just like they did for Mania IV, Survivor Series 1998, and to a lesser extent Spring Stampede 2000.

1) Many established stars had bad gimmicks before they struck gold. 2) and you can take a guy whose name is THE ROCK seriously? 3) Ppl age. There is no way to keep Austin vs Rock Hogan vs Flair forever. There is a need to keep building up younger stars, so they can evolve into big stars like the Rocks, Austins, Takers, etc. If you don't push them up there to the main event there will be no stars when all the old stars retire. Be thankful Vince saw this, and has created a new decade of stars

@Swizzy There's a difference between building up new guys vs rushing them to the main event. These new guys aren't ready, and most aren't even good to begin with.

Seriously great idea. I would pay to see this. A 16-man tournament is a great compromise between my idea (disregard all the stale main eventers and immediately begin putting the next generation in the main event) and seemingly everyone else's idea (leave the stale main eventers at the top and hope that Dana White is merciful during the buyout proceedings). Plenty of vets to draw, plenty of suspense and buzz, plenty of opportunity to push young talent. This would be awesome.

@mickeybabylon Yeah. The thing is trying to make it without putting 15-16 matches on the card. Even with a 4-hour show, I also want a specialty match and a tag-team titles match too. Even a divas match depending what Awesome Kong is gonna do. Maybe the winners of the Elimination Chambers can have 1st round byes at Wrestlemania?  I dunno but I might do a follow-up video on this soon.

@SQ1Fan The thing with it is though that WWE is specifically set up now to support this idea. They really don't have any tag teams, junior heavyweights, etc. Their card would end up looking like a big parade of heavyweights singles matches either way. 15 is definitely a lot of matches, but if you scrap the time given for video packages, half of the time given for entrances, and consider that guys like Big Show, Kane, The Miz, etc. really shouldn't be given time anyway, it should work well.
