Actually, it is blue because a german firm (Tivola) has almost the same logo as the japanese Dreamcast one. So, to avoid "copyright infringment", they had to change the red logo by a blue one :)

Blue suits it better, it's a more calming colour, it matches the sound effects of this start up and the actual name 'dreamcast'.
