He didn't make the rifle for money, he did it because of patriotism. He made the gun during the Soviet era, so he knew for a fact that he wouldn't see a dime from the guns.

General Mikhail Kalashnikov and his family were cheated out of millions of Rubles and Dollars from royalties as so many countries undertook the manufacturing of the AK rifles and all of their variances. He and his family and Russia did not get anything - nothing. Their buddies the North Koreans, Chinese, Cubans, Bulgarians, Poles, East Germans, Hungarians, Romanians, Yugoslavians did not give them anything in return. Nothing.

This was a very bad business decision!

@Stridus7 nope, they look in too European weapons and US weapons but it hasn't been official that they are going to buy weapons from them, they rather buy the AN-94 or AK 12
