Home built WVO controller with purge timer to allow the return line valve time to clear the WVO. Basically it's a electronics kit composed of the 555 IC for the timing circuit. The main switch is just a simple double poll single throw switch. This allows the input current to be switched between the two fuel pumps. The timing circuit taps off the main power coming in. The 3 port valve will gain power when in WVO mode from the fuel pump power as well. There's a separate leg out of the controller to enable the 3 port valve to be powered after the switchs over. I'm going to install a diode from the pump power to isolate current and prevent the WVO pump from powering during purge cycles. This will be installed on my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 with a cummins turbo diesel.

  • patracy,

Do you have circulating pump for the coolant ?

Is your fuel pressure probe is orignal? (came with the truck) Where did you get it?

Where did you get your pressure relief valve?

Did you ever have problem with Mallory pump?

Did you have to rebuit yet?

  • Coolant is circulated by the vehicle's water pump. It's just an additional loop in the coolant system like a heater core is.

My vehicle didn't come with a fuel pressure probe.

    I built everything.

    Tractor supply.

No problems with the mallory pump.

WVO doesn't work well with a VP44 injection pump so I no longer use the setup. It did work wonderful with the WVO cut down with diesel though.

  • can you build me one of these? how do I get a hold of you?

  • Sure I sent you a message. Just need to know the specs you need.

  • Yep, made it myself. The timer is based from a 555 IC.

  • @patracy

Did you bought both pressure regulator & pressure sensor at tractor supply? I did not found it. Do you have any part number?

  • what is a 555ic.

I was thinking it would be cool to have a system that switched the return solenoid when there is not longer oil in the line. I was thinking of a home made spectrophotometer. ie an led on one side of a clear pipe and ldr on the other side. The difference in the transmitted lilght between diesel and oil as detected by the ldr, would allow the controller to switch the solenoid once the system is purged. That is how i would do it in theory, but no idea of how to do it in practice. th

  • You the man. Did you make the controller?
