Stage 2 - No Items Allowed - 7:51.34

No Items Allowed Rules:

You obviously can't pick up an item. You can't ride on the box, you can't catch items during attacks or abuse items in any way. The only time you may pick up an item or use it is AFTER the run is complete. For an example of this watch the Falco clip in this video.

Now that I've explained the rules, I'll detail the video a little. These are the current best strategies for No Items Allowed on stage 2. I do know of many improvements, but I just wanted to get a video out in the open. I'm pretty sure sub 7:30 can be done, so the real challenge will be trying to get 6 minutes.

at 2:43 didn't Luigi stand on the crate? And if it wan't there then he couldn't stand on it so isn't that not allowed? And can anyone explain the rules on Charicter made items?

I decided it wasn't that big a deal if you stood on the crate as long as the crate didn't move *and* break targets. But I wouldn't worry much about the crate, seeing as (from what I can gather) every new strategy wipes out any need for the crate, even by accidental mount. Character made items are allowed, because No Items Allowed is about seeing what the character itself can perform. The only items you may never use are the ones throughout the stage.

But a charicter item IS technically an item so it breaks the rules that the name suggests so shouldn't it be called Charicter Only BTT or something like that? I don't want to critisize to much because this is awesome and you've worked hard on it its just I can be a bit picky but I see what you mean, thanks and awesome vid!

Character Only could be an alternative for some, but I feel No Items Allowed does it well enough. It is true that things like Link's bombs are items, but they're also classified as specific character attacks.

closest one i saw to that time was TL was around 9

Essentially, this challenege is pretending the items weren't there; but characters can still use items they create.

I actually really hate how they put items in the target test and how them made everyone share 5 tests. It seems to ruin the challenge of beating a level designed for you to use your characters moves in an effective way.
