@MrDJKushman He did get countered like that, but in his younger days he would slip wide to the right, roll under the second shot, or catch you between punches. A lot of guys learned to lean on Tyson and as his skills deteriorated they could take advantage of that. Buster Douglas hit Tyson with so many right hands it was unreal. Mike Tyson is my inspiration, but you gotta recognize the truth as his career progressed.

why didnt tyson get countered like this?

Tyson fired Kevin Rooney 2 yrs prior to the Douglas fight. His training and defense was not the same. Obviously it didn't get any better after that fight. I personally don't think Tyson reached his prime because of that. He was still in his early 20s. Can you imagine what Tyson would have been like had Cus reached 100yrs old?! I'm sure he would've gone undefeated for well over another decade with a lot more KOs! That man was almost impossible to hit and he could knock you out!!

@MrDJKushman check out my blog in a day or two and I'll have a post on compound attacks, it will have info there for you. Essentially if you roll under the right hand or slip wide to avoid the right hand you will defend, but you will be back at a neutral position, the key is to be able to adjust with the opponent and restart your own attack, you create and angle and then counter. Good boxing is always in 3 or 4 steps.
