ENGLISH:

On the occasion of the dance group's thirtieth anniversary, its artistic director and choreographer Édouard Lock will team up with Diana Vishneva, prima ballerina of the Kirov Ballet (St Petersburg), for this production. In his new creation, Lock (1954) interweaves love stories from two baroque operas: Gluck's Orpheo ed Eurydice and Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. Gavin Bryars was commissioned to compose the accompanying music. This world premiere in The Amsterdam Music Theatre kicks off the Canadian company's world tour. Since the mid-1980s, Édouard Lock and his company La La La Human Steps have been frequent guests at The Amsterdam Music Theatre. In 1988 he created Bread Dances for the Dutch National Ballet. In 2009 his choreography Amjad was presented in The Amsterdam Music Theatre.

  • I'll be there too, but that'll be despite this boring video that only recycles what's already on YT. Do you people at the MT honestly think this lackluster copy-paste job slapped onto YT as a mere afterthought passes for a promotional campaign? You have world premiere on your hands and THIS is all you could come up with to promote it?

  • @mariatechnosux Hi Maria, thank you for your comment. Of course we would like to promote a world premiere with new footage. Unfortunately there is no footage available yet. There will be soon after the first presentations in Amsterdam for other locations to promote. We are happy you did see this trailer, so you are informed about the fact that this new work will have its world premiere at the Amsterdam Music Theatre. Hope to greet you in our theatre and thanks again.

  • @TheAMSMusicTheatre Thank you for your reply, and again, I am confident the show itself will be much better than this boring trailer! I've seen this company 4 times already in Het Muziektheater, and I just think they deserve a better promo than this.

  • I'll be there. Am counting days. Long live la la la human steps! :-)
