College basketballs Dick Vitale and Michael Wilbon standing up against prostate cancer.
Award-Winning Sports Analysts Discuss Why They Have Joined the Fight Against an Interruption in Many Mens Lives College basketballs top analyst Dick Vitale and award-winning sports columnist Michael Wilbon are standing up in the fight against prostate cancer.
Vitale and Wilbon are teaming up with The V Foundation®, ESPN and Stand Up To Cancer™ for a town hall event called Life: Interrupted. The duo talks about the ways and importance of managing prostate cancer risk. They also discuss their personal connections with prostate cancer -- from close friends and family members to dealing with a personal health scare.
The campaign and event are focused on helping men and their loved ones recognize the reality of prostate cancer:
*One in six American men will develop prostate cancer and one new case of prostate cancer is diagnosed every two and a half minutes this year
*There were more new prostate cancer cases than any other non-skin cancer among men in the United States during 2007
*Prostate cancer was the second leading cause of cancer death for American men in 2003
