i have the 710 in 30 06 great rifle for 300 bucks only complaint is the sticky bolt but you get used to it and if you are experienced in hunting you only need one shot its not nessesary to work a bolt fast anyways

@protraxion Remington did retool this model after discontinuing it back in 2006. It is now sold as the model 770. I have a 710 in 7mm mag and other than a horse kick (fixed with a recoil pad), I love it. Though as dave says, my model 700BDL in .308 is in a whole other class, but was also more than twice the cost. I hunt with either or and have no complaints. Happy hunting bro.

Have owned one since 2006. What most guys do not understand is that it is a long action rifle. Sure, it is a cheaper version of the MDL 700 which is a pristine rifle but for the cost, this thing is a tack driver. I deal with guns and weapons on a daily basis and for 30-06 it is a superb performer. As for the Bolt, if you are trying to shoot so fast that you need to go through all 4 rounds in the magazine then perhaps you should try a different hobby. Very accurate depiction of this rifle, kudos!

This is a very accurate gun. However, the bolt on mine is very catchy. Almost as if the bolt has some type of a sticky paint on it and it sticks to the inside of the receiver. Also, the firing pin malfunctioned several times due to a buildup of trash or gunpowder. Yes, i may not have taken extreme care to it and put it through alot but it is a hunting rifle. I bought a remington 700 afterwards and was very pleased with that purchase. The 710s quality and reliability will never compare to a 700.

i hate the bolt on this gun my bullets are always jamming and i put some gun oil on the bolt but that doesnt even work

@jackana4ever remington is an awesome company its just the 710 is a cheap model built for people who cant afford a better model

can the plastic unit inside of the action shift in postion? I think the lugs on the bolt head are hitting the plastic so i cant open my buddies bolt without hitting it with my fist. then the hole bolt flys out of the gun past the bolt lock like its nothing. i am not impressed with the plastic inside of the action. maybee ill use a dremel tool to remove the plastic that is not inline with the locking lugs in the action?

@crfracer250f try some Rem oil

Thanks Dave I have a model 710 300 win mag and I have the same scope and harris bipod and using remington 180 grain soft tip ammunition I just shot a 4 round group dead center at 100meters all shots fit under the a dime. Ok for a 275 dollar walmart special and I dont like the bolt action but other than that it a great gun. Once again thanks for an informative video. Dave

This model def. has its problems, got all the bugs worked out of mine. The 710 model def needs an overhaul at the drawing board.
