The death of a little boy in Haywood County is being called suspicious. 4-year-old Jake Russell died Thursday night at Mission Hospital. He was found unresponsive at his home near Canton, but paramedics were unable to revive him. Deputies questioned the boy's parents, but only arrested his father. Michael Swayngim was charged with felony child abuse and possession of a firearm by a felon. His wife is not in custody. Deputies say additional charges may be filed.
