I LOVE IT!! Excellent video, that shows one venue for horses that could have ended up being slaughtered - instead they were given a chance of a new life, and help serve the community. You can tell the police officers in this video really love their new partners - very cool commentary from the officers. Hope they can get the funds needed for their new barn & arena and to be able to give new homes and jobs to more recued horses!!

Iknow that the horses were I live the (police who ride them, I had asked him were do you send this horses after there time is up , and the police officer told me they go out to a haven , to live the rest of there lives ,enjoying them selves) and this is were they go after to a police haven to retire

If police departments REALLY want to rescue horses from slaughter, they need to go directly to the auctions and buy as many as they can before the killer buyers do. Then they can try rehabilitating them and adopting out the ones that will not work for the force.

Is this an old video? Because it is more like 120,000 horses slaughtered, and it is not inside the US anymore.
The Standardbred's rider has kind of heavy hands, perhaps he can get some more instruction. But, overall, an excellent second career for a horse.
