The specific songs used for the montage were "Alright" and, of course, "Auld Lang Syne". Kirsten Wenlock was also responsible for what turned out to be a medley of "Natural Blues" and Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy". Which is, quite frankly, an even more apt description of 2009.
