"GHETTO" - Stare polskie tango (51) - Tadeusz Faliszewski, 1933 !

Due to requests that I still receive, I decided to re-upload my video which once had to be removed - for technical reasons. In the meantime, I thought of making a visual side of my work a bit more richer and perhaps - more attractive.

So, the sound is the same as it had been, transferred from the 78 rpm record on my handy Dual with Shure 78 cartridge.
The comment presented below is also the same; it turned out that it still existed in my computer files:
In present conditions - I added, however, a piano protective introduction, a fragment which is taken from Hanka Ordonówna's recording of "Mein Idische Momme".


The word „Ghetto", in Polish language Getto, may bring hurtful and poignant implications, that is experience of Our Age - Holocoust, a fruit of crazy nazi racial abomination. Nevertheless, in 1933, when the tango with such a title was composed and recorded in Poland it must have still meant just a certain area where people of the same heritage, tradition and custom decided to live together. The story is settled in the shtetl Kałużyn and people living there have - in the present song - their everyday worries, loves and joys; just a little and old ghetto....-

Ze wzruszeniem słucham i patrzę. Zwykli ludzie, młode twarze, czasem smutne spojrzenia... Zastanawiam się, jaki był los każdego z nich. Moja babcia wspominała ich z sentymentem. Nie "wyssaliśmy antysemityzmu z mlekiem matki"! Oni żyli wśród nas, chcieli żyć tutaj, w Polsce, bo tu mieli szansę na szczęśliwą przyszłość. Póki nie pojawili się "nadludzie" - opętani zbrodniczą ideologią Niemcy!

Many thanks for that song, but a lot more for the accompaning pictures; It must be a hell for the fotolaboratory-man/lady to make this fotos (2:21 - 2:26m & 2:26 - 2:38m).

Seven & twelve negativs orderly fixed to make ONE mutual foto... it should take for him/her hours of preparation for the combination AND the calibration. (because every negative had his own time of "exposing to light"-> before WW ll, it was done manual)

Jak słucham te przedwojenne piosenki, robi się smutno na duszy, żałuję bardzo, że ci wszyscy ludzie nie wyjechali gdzieś, aby się uratować, wiem, że to śmieszne może dzisiaj o tym mówić ale tak mam. Nie przeżyłam wojny i nienawiści. To byli tacy wspaniali ludzie, zdolni i wspaniali. Taka szkoda...
