The Slammin' Salmon Chowder Eating Contest - 24 pounds of chowder consumed!

The Slammin' Salmon Chowder Eating Contest was held on Dec. 3rd at City Crab & Seafood in New York City. Bob Shoudt breaks the Major League Eating capacity record after eating 2.4 gallons and more than 24 pounds of chowder in 6-minutes. The event kicked off the theatrical release of The Slammin' Salmon movie starring Michael Clarke Duncan and the Broken Lizard cast. MCD served as guest judge and the Broken Lizards were amateur coaches at the Major League Eating contest. Eater X, Badlands Booker, Crazy Legs Conti and Allen "Shredder" Goldstein competed along with amateur hopefuls.

I wonder how much chestnut or kobayashi would put down if they were there. I remember hearing kobayashi could drink 2 gallons of water in under a minute, i guess now theres no reason to doubt that.
