How well I remember this tune. There are so many musical ideas here that it takes a while to grasp. But when you "get it", you realize this is a work of pure genius. How eventually I understood this piece was as a musical painting of a steamy love-making session, with the ebbs and flows of passion, the mini-climaxes leading up to the irresistible force of the grand climax. Hence "Jam meh up"! Ravel's "Bolero" has the same theme. Boogsie is steamier, more rythmically compelling, more convincing.
