It was the first thrill attraction to open in Epcot, Future World. The film for the ride was directed by Leonard Nimoy and had an all-star cast including a very young Elizabeth Shue. Footage for this video tribute was shot in 16x9 aspect ratio.

  • Beautiful work. But I also have to wonder, wasn't there a pre-show or queue film at one point? Just wondering.

    Peace.

  • @blinkereye123 There was actually, as you moved through the queue there were monitors above the queue line that had occasional showings of explanations of what 'MET' was and how the shrinking system and the 'bodyprobe' ship worked. They also helped to set up the storyline and set the mood of the attraction.

  • Microsoft is interested in reopening the Wonders Of Life pavilion and there is suppossedly a new roller coaster being built in place of body wars. No news on cranium command or making of me. Reopening is set for 2012. That's all the info that I know.

  • @mavman1994 Okay, thanks for the info, mate.

  • Yeah, I believe ol' Bravo-Two-Two-Niner has run its last flight in FW, however I have seen reincarnations of BW in science museums that have flight sim exhibits.

  • It's been eight years since I last rode this ride, and now after watching it on YouTube I realize how graphic the pictures of inside the body are. Perhaps that's why ride and the Wonders of Life Pavilion overall were not a big hit. A little too graphic and serious for a Disney vacation.

  • i honestly don't think they should have the ride come back. i think it's too disgusting for disney standards.

  • @sarahloumc1978 Then you'll be extremely let down to learn that nothing has taken its place. The whole pavilion is dead, and they used some parts from the BW simulators for the new Star Tours attraction.

  • This was one of my fave rides in disney, i'm sad to hear it has been closed down, i was hoping to ride it again when i go next year, but everything has to move on, and i'm looking forward to finding out what has taken it's place.

  • Haven't been on this ride in years. And judging from what I've heard, that was most likely my last. :(

Out of curiosity, where is the Projector on the ATLAS style simulators, like this one?

  • Everyone knows going into the heart will kill you. Didn't they watch Innerspace?

  • I loved this ride, I got my family to go see it twice. :D

I also remember they didn't even finish the mission and get the splinter out, haha.

It was cool to see this again.

Can you believe it's been TWENTY years?? Damn those graphics are still pretty good!!

  • Do you have any footage of the pre-show and queue area?
