He was and still is a legend to me, my friends and I organised a gig to raise money for Cancer research years ago and he agreed to play in a small town 20 miles from his .. He never showed ... Rock n Roll .. :) .. I was very lucky to have seen him a few times and when he took out the strat even in the later drunken years,

he was still the man ...

he was a brilliant musician, great lurics/music & musical arrangement. sad to think he won,t be creating more great tracks like this & his amazing Glisteing Glyndebourne, solid air etc.

My musical regret is that I had planned to see John in Cork, back round 2007. However the gig was cancelled due to his ongoing health problems. It was never rescheduled. There had been so many chances to see him before then, but none after.

Born in the 50's...influenced by psychedelia -like "Jefferson Airplane"- in late 60's/early 70's....and tonight--almost 50 years later the word STORMBRINGER popped out of my mind--leading to listen this most INNERfeeling song ......SO MUCH IN CONTRAST TO THIS NOWADAYS COLDHEARTED SOCIETY!!!!!!
