@nycboyforlife Ending up ontop counts for something but Gillies did clearly win. Also if those striped fags do not intervene there are pretty good odds that the beast would clear Wilson off of him and continue at some point to take it tio him.

I've seen Hoyda take a lot of raps in the past, but give him credit...he was a good fit for the bullies at the time, and he was a capable battler. Good fights with two VERY tough guys in Wensink and Nystrom, and beat up a tough Garry Howatt. Got hammered by Gillies, but who didn't back then...except Wilson. Hoyda was no pushover. Little tachnique - just a brawler, but was effective against a prime Bob Nystrom.
