Godfather 3 is nowhere near as good as 1 or 2 but it is a very good film in its own right.

BTW- that whole plot line with the Vatican was based on true events. There was a lot of shenanigans going on with the Vatican bank in the 80s. It's rumored that's why the Pope who only lived about a week or something died. He asked to see the Vatican books

I'm not sure. GF3 grew on me. I think Coppolla got rushed into production and finishing the film. To me it just didn't quite measure up to the first 2. I'm glad they didn't make a 4th though. I mean come on Leonardo DiCaprio as a CORLEONE?

GF3 was a great movie. it provided insight on how the killing of Fredo was haunting Michael and how he continued to strive for legitemacy but the higher up he went the crookeder it got...all the way up to the vatican. Thats when he realized he couldn't do anymore and handed control over to vincent played by Andy Garcia, who, by the way did an excellent job playing sonny's son. When MIchael's daughter was killed, that was the price he paid for his promise to god that he'd "sin no more."

i agree partly. the story was still good and relevent and the ending was beautiful but they really let themselves down in the actors and adding the unessassary (god i'm never gonna know how to spell that) stuff. whoever andy garcia played was terrible. the whole tough guy thing was really cheesy and it made me feel i was watching some tacky 80s action film. took the whole meaning out of the godfather for me.

@ZOMBIETH44 apparently it didnt since they made the third movie but you can say for sure that its ended by now michael corleone is dead and his heir isnt that interesting besides all plans for godafther IV was cancelled a long time ago so we got nothing to fear

idc wat anyone says. godfather 3 was really good. yes it wasnt as good as the first 2 but i think it had closure and one of the best endings. i didnt like how 2 ended and 3 was pretty sad at the end not gonna lie
