  • I have VCD and its keeping me from wrestling, speech therapy doesnt work for me.

  • An athlete's dad gave me a link to this excellent YouTube website.

I especially agree with MsCorrectly's great advice.

I made a website about VCD, back in 2001, since both my husband and I had VCD in 1998 and 2000. The title of my website is, Can't Breathe? Suspect Vocal Cord Dysfunction! My cell phone and email are on the homepage.

Good luck to all. VCD is usually very curable, when causes are looked for, found and removed or gently treated.

    Sincerely,

    Carol

  • @MsCorrectly For Nutritional ideas you might want to find out if you have acid reflux cause it is very common with people that have VCD and it can make VCD much worse there is a diet that you can follow to control acid reflux which you doctor can give you. As for getting helium filled balloons you can usually get those at dollar stores and also note that the helium only works for a few moments

  • I have this too. Found out last year, but can't get to a speech therapist anytime soon. It's just too expensive. I am a novice runner and do okay in the summer when it's humid, but when the Arizona monsoons disappear and it's back to 6% humidity levels, it's a bit challenging. I won't be sucking on balloons though! haha.

  • @buhtailo haha he always talks like that it takes a while to get used to it.

  • kyle has intrduced us to other.... syyyyyyympptooooooooouuuuuuuuuums!

  • who makes a huge coufing sound just when exhaling fast?

  • @h2ogurl1234 Same here. Mine is all the time. I've been doing speech therapy but it doesn't help. Had it for 8 months now...

  • @h2ogurl1234 I know how you feel I do struggle to breath all the time too

  • My vocal cord disfunction is all the time. No matter what I can't breathe right
