We weren't supposed to build a building higher than the hat atop the william Penn statue. It was in the charter, I believe. But we did it anyway. Presumably after 1980. Now we're cursed by Billy Penn. However the guy who built the new Verizon tower, now the highest bulding in Philly, put a small statue on the roof of the new building in the hopes of turning it around. Will it work? We'll find out TONIGHT!

Come on slick, saying the Phillies "suck" is just juvenile. Yanks were no. 1 a few years back; they could even get past Tampa. Quite honestly, I don't even know who knocked them out this year. But, they weren't around for the series. So, your boys this year lost and the Phillies kept advancing down Broad Street. You post some pretty silly stuff DJ. Go listen to some Jerky Boyz and cry to Sol Rosenberg or Frank Rizzo.

You MAY be correct that the other teams my not win for a while. But, the Flyers produce year after year, keep much of the league afloat by their revenue they generate, make the playoffs most years. Eagles and Sixers are solid...you can't say they're "shit". You know NOTHING about AMERICAN SPORTS so keep the undeducated comments to your living room Johnny.

jalcrazy, you're one nutty son of a gun. The Phils really didn't squeak by any series. They did what any world series champs need to do: they were undefeated for ALL of the playoffs at home and lost only ONE game per series on the road. So really, what else more could they have done? They went 26-4 in their last 30 games from August until they won. They were a very good team all year and then went on a hot streak at the PERFECT time. Not lucky at all. It DOES feel great, gotta admit. Peace.
